Armed Man Surrenders to Police after Hostage Situation at Hollywood Home

HOLLYWOOD (KTLA) -- An armed man who barricaded himself inside his home in Hollywood has surrendered to LAPD officers and the SWAT team.

The incident took place at a home in the 900 block of North Hobart Boulevard.

Investigators say Tuesday night's situation stemmed from a domestic violence incident that took place Monday between the man and a woman.

Apparently, the couple got into a fight, police were called, but the man fled before they arrived.

The man returned Tuesday while the woman was out and authorities say he was waiting inside the home when she returned in the evening.

That's when he took the woman hostage and police were called, again.

This time, the LAPD cordoned off the area and called in the SWAT team for backup. The B.E.A.R armored vehicle was also sent to the scene.

Around 8:30 p.m., the suspect released the female, but he refused to come outside.

Two hours later, at 10:30 p.m., he surrendered without incident.
