Subways Running, but With Fewer Trains

Subway service
Robert Stolarik for The New York TimesOn Monday morning, commuters rushed to limited service F trains at the Jamaica-179th Street station on Hillside Avenue in Queens.
Updated, 9:03 a.m. | Tropical Storm Irene may have left the area, but its winds and rain have disrupted travel plans for millions who rely on the region’s mass transit system to get to work on Monday morning.
Here is a breakdown of what’s working and what’s not — and remember to check out the Web site of your transit agency for the latest updates.
New York City Subway
All subway lines are operating this morning, but with fewer trains than a usual morning rush. Expect longer waits and more crowded cars. No. 7 trains are running local, and No. 6 trains run local in the Bronx.
New York City Buses
Local, limited, and express buses will be operating as close to a normal schedule as possible, although many routes will likely be sluggish and face detours because of adverse road conditions. Same for Long Island Bus.
Metro-North Railroad
No trains whatsoever on all three lines: New Haven, Harlem, and Hudson.
Long Island Rail Road
No trains at all on the Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson, Long Beach and Far Rockaway branches. No trains east of Babylon on the Montauk branch, or east of Ronkonkoma on the Greenport-bound line. There will be service, albeit with some cancellations and smaller cars, between the city and Babylon, Huntington, Ronkonkoma, Hempstead, and West Hempstead. Trains will run on the Port Washington branch, but only west of Great Neck.
New Jersey Transit
No commuter trains will operate on Monday, with the exception of the Atlantic City Rail Line. Buses will run on a truncated weekday schedule, and delays and detours are expected due to flooding on some routes. Light rail will run on a weekend schedule. There is no train service to the Meadowlands for the Giant-Jets game.
PATH Train
Regular service resumed at 4 a.m.
Bridges and Tunnels
All major crossings in the region are open and charging regular tolls.
Airports
Kennedy and Newark opened to arriving flights as of 6 a.m., and departures are set to resume at noon. The AirTrain will resume at Kennedy at 4 a.m., and at Newark at 6 a.m. LaGuardia opened to arrivals and departure at 7 a.m. Passengers are urged to contact their airline to confirm that schedule flights are still on.
Staten Island Railway
Regular service between St. George and Tottenville.
Westchester Bee-Line buses
Buses operating on a regular weekday schedule.
Amtrak
No trains between Boston and Philadelphia. Most trains will operate between Philadelphia and Washington. All Acela Express service between Boston and Washington is canceled.
